Public Shows
General Information
The Monday night shows are professional presentations. The Friday night shows for the public are given by the BYU Astronomical Society during Fall, Winter, and Spring semesters. Tickets go on sale at the planetarium door on the 4th floor of the ESC starting at 6:30 PM and are $5 for adults, $2 for children 12 and under. Card only. Reservations are not taken for the shows. For more information about these shows see the calendar, but do not reserve seats.
Be on time. Shows start promptly on time and for safety reasons we cannot let people in late.
*There are no Monday and Friday night shows during Summer Term - These shows will start again in September.
Have a group of less than 20 people?
We do not do shows for groups of less than 20 people, but if you have a group of less than 20, you can request a reservation with a show that is already scheduled by a group of 20 or more.

Toggle ItemWho can come to the shows?All planetarium shows are given with the theatre lights off, so please do not bring children too young to enjoy the shows. We have separate shows specifically for older preschoolers during the day that can be scheduled. Please submit your request here.

Toggle ItemHow can I pay?You can pay at the planetarium door before the show. We only accept card (no Cougar Cash, Venmo, Apple Pay, etc).

Toggle ItemHow many people qualify as a group?You need to have 20 people to reserve an unscheduled Community Groups show. Smaller groups, including homeschool families, can request seats in shows that are already scheduled (see Calendar).
